Veterans Engineering is seeking a ServiceNow Database Administrator (DBA) to be responsible for the maintenance, performance, integrity, and security of databases managed within the ServiceNow platform. This role involves ensuring optimal database operation within an organization's IT infrastructure.
*Job Overview:*
As a ServiceNow Database Administrator, you will be pivotal in managing and ensuring the efficient operation of our organization's ServiceNow databases. You will work closely with IT teams to ensure that the database offerings are robust, performant, and seamlessly integrated with other services. Key Responsibilities
· Database Setup and Maintenance: Install and configure ServiceNow database environments. Perform regular maintenance tasks such as backups, restoration, and updates.
· Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and adjust configurations and systems to ensure optimal performance and response times.
· Security Management: Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability assessments.
· Troubleshooting and Support: Provide high-level support for database issues. Troubleshoot complex problems and work with other IT teams to coordinate solutions.
· Capacity Planning: Analyze current database capacity and project future needs. Make recommendations for enhancements to meet new or changing database demands.
· Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data within ServiceNow applications and perform regular audits to verify data integrity.
· Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of the database setup, configurations, procedures, and changes.
· Collaboration and Training: Work with IT staff to share knowledge and best practices. Provide training when necessary.
*Required Skills and Qualifications:*
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
· Proven experience as a Database Administrator, with specific experience in ServiceNow environments.
· Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
· Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting database servers.
· Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques.
· Proficiency in SQL and database management tools.
· Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to understand complex information systems.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· ServiceNow Certification, such as Certified System Administrator or Certified Implementation Specialist.
· Experience with scripting languages like JavaScript.
· Knowledge of ITIL and IT service management.
· Familiarity with cloud services and environments, especially in relation to database management.
