Job Description
In this role the candidate is required to understand the environment, provide consulting
approach in defining and implementing CSDM model, implementing CMDB, working on complex
Service Mapping and Discovery, needs to discover the client's application and infrastructure
landscape. The candidate should be able to interact with the different application and
infrastructure teams to understand and document the landscape.
Technical Skills:
Expert in ServiceNow ITOM modules: Discovery, CSDM, CMDB, Service Mapping.
Expert in ServiceNow CMDB Architecture and CSDM modeling.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written using diagrams and flowcharts to
translate technically complex concepts into easy-to-understand business value
statements and procedures.
Primary contact for working with process owners, business users, and vendors.
Hands-on experience in scripting and coding ITOM solutions, namely Discovery, Service
Mapping
Experience designing and developing integrations between ServiceNow and third-party
systems including use of ServiceNow's Integration Hub, and/or custom APIs.
Expert understanding on import sets and transform maps, working with external data
sources, ServiceNow data mapping.
Ability to analyze existing CIs, their relationships with other CIs, and effectively map
them for the success of ITSM processes like Incident, Change, and Problem &
Knowledge.
Experience with configuring/developing Discovery probes, sensors and / or patterns to
ensure high data accuracy and integrity of our CMDB.
Experience with improving Discovery performance and coverage and building effective
dashboards for senior leaders, service owners and executives to show accurate and up
to date results of our CMDB health.
Expert knowledge of third-party integrations with ServiceNow, Discovery probes,
sensors and patterns, Service Mapping configurations and Event management rules for
correlation of events and alerts coming from monitoring tools
ServiceNow tool experience in Discovery module and Service Mapping module.
Good experience in conducting workshops with enterprise users about CSDM
framework and how it would be applicable for them.
Ability to configure ServiceNow discovery and Service Mapping in order to discover
infrastructure components.
Ability to conduct workshops and coordinate with Infrastructure & Application architects
to gather information needed to aid discovery and service mapping
Ability to assist and coordinate with engineers in rolling out discovery & service mapping
Ensuring documentation of all configurations being designed
Ability to set up and maintain discovery schedules, configure probes and troubleshoot in
case of issues.
Good understanding of architecture / infrastructure concepts.
Good understanding of basic application, server, network, storage and cloud
infrastructure components.
Ability to configure MID servers to be able to test and ensure discovery.
Experience in troubleshooting patterns while performing discovery via the service
mapping module in ServiceNow.
Coordination with ServiceNow to handle unique discovery requirements that might arise
during the project.
