100% FTE – 40 hours per weekDay Shift – UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 07:00 – 16:00 (PST), Monday-FridayRequired participation in team on call schedule POSITION HIGHLIGHTSDesigning the ServiceNow platform to promote an optimal and sustainable platform for UW Medicine.Modernizing Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) by integrating industry best practices with the delivery and support of various ServiceNow modules, including: Service Catalog, Service Portal, Change Management, Incident Management, Request Management, Problem Management, Knowledge Management, Configuration, and Discovery.Maintaining in-depth functional knowledge of ServiceNow components and capabilities including fundamental understanding of technologies relevant to the ServiceNow integration solutions including: SSO, SAML, SSL, Web Services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST, SCP, and FTPS.Implementing advanced ServiceNow capabilities to support UWM (e.g., ITSM, ITAM, GRC), designing and delivering advanced, custom solutions on the ServiceNow platform. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Neighborhood Clinics (UWNC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). In addition, UW Medicine shares in the ownership and governance of Children’s University Medical Group and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (a partnership between UW Medicine, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research, and Seattle Children’s). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
You perform ServiceNow platform development, configuration, and design-level details that align to implementation best practices. You lead advanced analysis, architectural design, and development for all ServiceNow platform instances.You leverage ServiceNow to ensure appropriate development of workflows, configurations, customizations, and applications.You define, at an architectural and design level of detail, technical solutions aligned with presented problem areas for UWM and ServiceNow best practices.You work with stakeholders to customize/update complex software for computer programs, design prototype applications, implement and test source code, troubleshoot software applications, and effectively execute the development plan.You provide technical mentorship to other Developers and Administrators in relation to technical design standards and implementation of ServiceNow best practices.You architect a ServiceNow solution that not only addresses current needs but will scale to meet future demand.You develop and communicate a maturity roadmap for ServiceNow functionality to achieve the service management and operational support needs of IT and business partners across the enterprise.You maintain proficient knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and products via webinars, case study, training, and all other resources available.You work closely with ITIL process owners and stakeholders to ensure ServiceNow is configured to meet their requirements and facilitate technical meetings as needed for enhancements and incidents.You continuously monitor advanced development performed on ServiceNow from UW Medicine staff as well as 3rd party vendors (i.e. CDW, ServiceNow) and guide industry best practice configuration. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Development, Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience.4+ years’ experience in software development with a demonstrated progression in responsibilities which must include the below.Advanced understanding of ServiceNow platform and implementation experience with at least 2 of the following ServiceNow application suites: CSM, FSM, ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, GRC/IRM, and/or SecOps.Advanced understanding of ServiceNow core application UI and workflow configuration, report development, and integration components (e.g. LDAP, SSO, etc.) as they pertain to Customer Service implementation requirements.Experience performing at least three full lifecycle ServiceNow implementations.Advanced experience with scripting in the ServiceNow platform using JSt: Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, UI Pages, Angular JS, Jelly, etc.Advanced experience with web technologies (XML, HTML, JavaScript, Web Services, etc.).Advanced understanding of implementation methodologies/SDLC (ex. Agile Scrum, Waterfall).Advanced experience establishing documentation standards for requirements management, design, and development.Advanced experience developing solutions designed to improve the delivery of services or operational support in a complex, mission-critical environment.Familiarity configuring ServiceNow to efficiently and effectively support standard ITSM related processes and roles, such as: Incident Management, Change Management, Service Catalog Management, Problem Management, Configuration Management, Release Management, and Continuous Service Improvement Management.Advanced experience developing/designing solutions that are intuitive for users and provide data for continuous review and improvement.Advanced experience creating detailed documentation for various stakeholders, from developers to end users to senior leadership.Advanced experience managing stakeholder relationships, guiding stakeholders to a consensus, and gaining buy-in to resolve significant process design issues. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTThis is an Information Technology deadline-driven work environment.The individual in this position is expected to work normal daytime hours. The work may be performed in either an office environment or by telecommuting with manager approval, during normal business hours; however, significant off-hours and weekends may be needed to resolve problems and respond to emergencies. This individual is expected to be available for emergencies (business continuity/disaster recovery efforts) on a 24x7 basis as needed.Must coordinate projects without direct supervisory authority.Must work within the constraints of multiple technical environments.The individual in this position must learn many organizational structures and cultures and continually foster collaboration.Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
