Description: NexGen Data Systems is seeking a ServiceNow Developer for an enterprise-class hybrid cloud/datacenter organization that provides Problem Management, Knowledge Management, Configuration and Asset Management, Service Catalogs/Workflows and Custom Workflows, Discovery, and Service Mapping, and which continues to expand its rich ServiceNow platform and capabilities. The ServiceNow Developer will customize ServiceNow applications and facilitate continuous rollout of new or enhanced applications, modules, perform plugin integrations, and configure Application UI and Workflows. A successful candidate must openly collaborate with ServiceNow team members including the Architect, Developers, Administrators, Product Owner, Business Analyst, Project Manager, and other ServiceNow stakeholders. The ideal candidate will interweave the 4C’s—Communication, Collaboration, Competency, and Character—together to deliver unsurpassed excellence to diverse audiences. Roles and Responsibilities: Support Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Knowledge Management, Integration, CMDB, Asset Management, Import Sets, Service Catalogs/Workflows and Custom Workflows, Discovery, and Service Mapping. Assist with the creation and maintenance of Workflows used to automate routine tasks based on requirements. Customize ServiceNow applications and facilitate rollout of new applications, modules, plugin integrations, and configure Application UI and Configure Workflow. Review and apply additional UI/UX requirements from internal team and align into ServiceNow development. Collaborate effectively with other ServiceNow team members, including developers, administrators, architect, and business analyst, to develop solutions and handle general updates and configuration changes/requests. Identify system deficiencies and recommend solutions. Provide support, administration, and maintenance of User/Group/Role Management, List/Form Updates, Catalog Items/Service Portal and Workflows. Perform data migration to import data from other applications and external databases. Implement new functionality using Client Scripts, business rules, ACL, UI policies and UI actions. Implements SLAs, ACLs, Client Scripts, and UI policies per requirements. Provide a high level of quality/accuracy. Requirements: Required Skills: BS degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science/Information Systems Technology and Six (6) years of experience with engineering within Enterprise Hosting Environments to include experience with: Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Support, Test and Evaluation, or Logistics support of C4ISR requirements. Three (3) years of technical experience in support of Enterprise Hosting. Experience may be achieved simultaneously. OR Technical Training in relevant enterprise hosting technology areas and Eight (8) years of hands-on experience with Enterprise Hosting or similar projects, to include three (3) of the following five (5) areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Data Analysis, Test & Evaluation, and Training. Experience may be achieved simultaneously Recognized expert who has demonstrated industry and/or public service (Department of Defense) leadership in Information Technology, Architecture or Engineering. Minimum 3 years of experience in ServiceNow development and architecture ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) Secret clearance or higher preferred 8570 compliance (Active Security and OS certifications) Ability to commit and take ownership, to deliver on-time quality solutions for areas of responsibility. Ability to deconstruct problems and proactively perform systems thinking to recommend solutions. Ability to work with minimal supervision yet responsive to heightened observation, as needed. Ability to communicate with diverse audiences, including government customers and peers. Agile (scrum preferred) experience with Confluence, JIRA, and/or other similar resources. Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. Provide a high level of quality/accuracy. Ability to describe and demonstrate experience with two or more of the following technical areas: Linux/Red Hat system administration Windows server system administration Scripting (python, shell/bash, PowerShell) Amazon Web Services (AWS) capabilities and certification(s) DoD cybersecurity components (RMF, STIG, ACAS, other) Systems integration and automation tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, other) Monitoring tools (Splunk Enterprise, SolarWinds, Nagios, WhatsUp Gold, other) Desired Skills and Experience: Experience in DoD environment, especially with ServiceNow ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) domains Additional industry certifications (i.e., CISSP, PMP, RHCSA, MCSE, CNA, CCNA, etc.) Experience with cloud computing monitoring tools and technologies Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools and technologies Experience with AI tools and technologies About the Company: NexGen Data Systems is an emerging technologies focused company providing expert systems and network engineering solutions to the Department of Defense.
