Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ServiceNow Developer and Administrator (L3) to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in managing, developing, and optimizing the ServiceNow platform, with a strong focus on CMDB, Change Management, Service Catalog, integration with third-party systems, and scripting.
Key Responsibilities :
Platform Maintenance and Optimization :
Manage, configure, and optimize the ServiceNow platform to ensure high performance and reliability. Perform regular instance cloning, patching, upgrades, and system health checks. Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues to minimize downtime.
CMDB (Configuration Management Database) :
Design, implement, and maintain the CMDB to ensure accurate and up-to-date information about IT assets and services. Define and manage the relationships between Configuration Items (CIs). Ensure CMDB integrity by establishing and enforcing data quality standards and conducting regular audits.
Change Management :
Administer and enhance the Change Management process within ServiceNow. Support the Change Advisory Board (CAB) process, including evaluating change requests and assessing their impact. Develop and maintain automated workflows to streamline the Change Management process.
Service Catalog Management :
Design and develop the Service Catalog, ensuring a user-friendly interface and seamless user experience. Create and manage catalog items, workflows, and approval processes. Collaborate with stakeholders to continuously improve and expand the Service Catalog offerings.
Integration With Third-Party Systems :
Develop and manage integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, and other integration tools. Ensure secure, reliable, and efficient data exchange between systems. Troubleshoot integration issues and implement solutions to enhance interoperability.
Scripting And Customization :
Develop custom scripts using JavaScript, Glide API, and other scripting languages to extend ServiceNow functionalities. Create and maintain Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Data Policies, UI Actions, and Script Includes. Implement customizations based on business requirements while adhering to best practices.
Incident, Problem, And Request Management :
Administer Incident, Problem, and Request Management modules to ensure efficient handling of tickets and requests. Analyze and resolve complex incidents and problems to prevent recurrence. Provide advanced support for user requests and issues related to the ServiceNow platform.
Reporting And Analytics :
Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and performance analytics to provide insights into service performance and trends. Create custom reports to meet the specific needs of different departments and stakeholders. Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and recommend enhancements.
User Support And Training :
Provide advanced support for ServiceNow users, including troubleshooting and best practice guidance. Conduct training sessions and create comprehensive documentation for end-users and other administrators. Mentor junior administrators and developers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
Security And Compliance :
Ensure the ServiceNow platform adheres to organizational security policies and industry best practices. Manage roles, groups, and access controls to maintain data integrity and security. Perform regular security audits and implement measures to address vulnerabilities.
Continuous Improvement :
Stay updated with new features and functionalities introduced in ServiceNow releases. Evaluate and implement new modules and applications to enhance the platform. Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to optimize ServiceNow capabilities.
Required Skills And Qualifications :
Technical Expertise :
Extensive experience with ServiceNow administration and development. Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and ServiceNow Glide API. Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices, with a focus on CMDB, Change Management, and Service Catalog.
CMDB And Change Management :
In-depth understanding of CMDB principles, data modeling, and CI relationships. Proven experience in managing and enhancing Change Management processes.
Integration Skills :
Experience with integrating ServiceNow with third-party systems using REST/SOAP APIs and MID Server. Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve integration issues.
Scripting And Customization :
Advanced scripting skills in JavaScript and familiarity with Glide API. Ability to develop complex Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and other customizations.
Problem-Solving :
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues. Ability to troubleshoot performance issues and provide timely solutions.
Project Management :
Experience managing ServiceNow projects, including requirement gathering, design, implementation, and testing. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Communication :
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to create clear and concise documentation and training materials.
Certifications :
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) is required. Additional certifications such as Certified Application Developer (CAD), Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS), and ITIL certification are highly desirable. By excelling in these responsibilities and possessing the required skills, a ServiceNow Developer and Administrator at the L3 level will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of IT service management within the organization.
