The main responsibilities of a IT SOFTWARE ASSET MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST include:Software Asset Lifecycle Management:Develop and implement strategies for the acquisition, deployment, and retirement of software assets. Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of software licenses and maintenance agreements. Conduct regular audits to validate software deployments and reconcile license entitlements.Maintain an accurate inventory of software assets deployed across the organization utilizing software asset management tools to track software installations, versions, and usage.Monitor software license usage and ensure compliance with license agreements by conducting audits and assessments to verify license entitlements and usage.Coordinate with cross-functional partners such as sourcing, security, and legal teams to resolve compliance issues and mitigate risks.Analyze software usage data to identify opportunities for license optimization and cost reduction.Work with Procurement team to help negotiate favorable terms with software vendors to optimize licensing agreements and reduce costs.Develop and document software asset management processes and procedures.Implement automation and workflow improvements to streamline software procurement, deployment, license transfer, and retirement processes.Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on software asset management best practices.Stay informed about licensing models, pricing structures, and product roadmaps for key software vendors.
Hardware Asset ManagementAssist with vendor management to ensure vendors are meeting and delivering services that meet Zoom’s standard and expectation.Assist with the on/off-boarding process to ensure the hardware service request tickets are handled timely and efficiently.Create purchase orders (PO) and work with the accounting team to review receipts for all IT hardware and assets in Oracle.Hardware Asset Management and ServiceNow experience is a plusTo apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field. A Master's degree is a plus.Proven experience (typically 5 years +) in software asset management, software licensing, or related IT asset management roles.In-depth knowledge of software licensing models, compliance regulations, and industry best practices.Certifications in IT asset management or software licensing from IAITAM.org (e.g., CSAM, CHAMP, IAITAM, ITIL) are desirable.This is a PS California timezone role, 9 hours (includes 1 hour meal break) between 6 AM - 5 PM.Must be available to work on a shifting schedule
